This Privacy Statement applies to all Personal Information (defined below) received or collected by Symtech Solar, Inc. and its affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, and groups (collectively, “Symtech Solar,” “our,” “us,” or “we”).

Personal Information” means non-public information about an individual person from which that person can be identified, whether directly or indirectly, including by reference to an identifier such as a name, address, telephone number, email addresses, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to their physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity.. Personal Information does not include information regarding an organization or corporate entity, or information that is encoded, anonymous or aggregated in a manner which does not enable the individual to be re-identified. Unless the context requires otherwise, Personal Information shall be deemed to include Sensitive Personal Information.

Sensitive Personal Information” means Personal Information that reveals genetic data or biometric data, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious, or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, or information specifying the health or sex life of the individual.

Website” means symtechsolar.com and all other Symtech Solar websites and online services, including desktop and mobile applications.

We do not collect any Sensitive Personal Information about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data) without your express consent.

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION:

We will only use your Personal Information when the law allows us to do so. Most commonly, we will use your Personal Information in the following circumstances:

  • where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you, including the Terms of Use; or
  • where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests; or

Personal Information you give to us. We will use this Personal Information:

    • to set up a customer account with us;
    • to respond to your enquiries;
    • to post testimonials, comments, and reviews on the Website which may contain Personal Information. We do obtain the individual’s consent prior to posting their testimonial, both to post their testimonial and to post their name along with their testimonial.
    • to send service-related announcements when we deem necessary. For instance, if service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we may send an email notification.
    • Occasionally we may send marketing emails. If you no longer wish to receive marketing emails, follow the unsubscribe instructions included in those communications. Personal Information will not be rented, sold, shared, or traded with or to third parties for marketing purposes.

SECURITY:

Symtech Solar maintains appropriate safeguards and precautions to protect Personal Information in our possession from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the Personal Information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially reasonable means to protect the Personal Information we receive, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Moreover, we are not responsible for the security of information you transmit to the Website over networks that we do not control, including the internet and wireless networks.

TECHNOLOGY:

COOKIES AND LOGGING

At several points, the Website delivers so-called “cookies” (including “session” cookies that are automatically deleted upon termination of your session when you close your browser). Cookies are small text files that are delivered to the user’s computer and are stored by the web browser that help to make our web content more user-friendly, effective, and secure.  We do not link the information we store in cookies to any Personal Information submitted through our Website.

What do we use cookies for?

The cookies we use are categorized into four groups:

THIRD PARTY COOKIES AND WEB BEACONS

We use a third-party tracking service that uses cookies to collect non-Personal Information about visitors to our site that it provides us in aggregate.

Our third party tracking service employs a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons), that help us better manage content on our Website.  Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, and are similar in function to cookies.  In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on our Websites. We do not link information gathered by clear gifs to any Personal Information submitted through our Websites.

No fee usually required.

What we may need from you.

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your Personal Information (or to exercise any of your other rights).
